As the old school general stores started to dissapear, Leonard’s Trading Store took on many new forms.
2008 to 2015 – Leonard’s Trading Store
Leonard’s Trading store had a general store in the old brick shop. In the attached building behind was a coffee shop and restaurant, with function rooms.

2014 – Added to the Local Heritage Register

A plaque was installed on the left front side of the shop to indetify its historic status.
2015 – Vacant

2015 to 2017 – Smaller projects and businesses

2017 to 2020 – Classio Restaurant
The building hosted an Indian restaurant which later moved to Toowoomba.

2020 to 2022 – Daily Journal newspaper
A local newspaper once occupied the building and later moved to King St.

2022 to now
The building has a new owner who is performing long deserved maintenance on the building. This website was created to convey the long history of this old general store that has seen many faces and events over the years.
One of the old shop counters has been found and restored, ready for it’s new chapter within its 140 yr old plus home.
The shop is now home to Alley Cat Trading.
